Meet the Kids

Evan…
Evan is a second grader. He likes building with Legos, reading, playing with friends, and playing baseball and soccer. He wants to be an author, illustrator, inventor, and – in his spare time (!) – a composer. This is his second year of playing violin, and he is really enjoying it!

Nolan…
Nolan (6) exploded onto the children’s music scene with his avant-garde interpretations of lightly row and Song of the Wind little more than 2 years ago.  His recent and masterful approach to Allegro has some wondering if Nolan is capable of channeling Shinichi Siuziki himself, and has elicited gushing rivers of praise from such arid, hard nosed critics as his parents and grandparents.

Liam…
Mellifluous cacophony, that’s how the critics are describing the whirling dervish of horsehair, steel, and rosin known as Master Liam!  Liam (4) shocked the musical world this year with his adept demonstrations of proper stances such as play position, rest position, and bow hold.  Not to mention his rousing rendition of the first half of Twinkle Twinkle, which brings the house down at least 3 nights a week!

Skylar…
Skylar has been playing the violin for four years. She is nine now and in grade four, where her favorite subject is math!!! She says music lessons are fun and she enjoys being a musician. She loves to play minute number 3 on the violin. Skylar also thrives at playing the  piano, being a junior Girl Scout (she sold the most cookies in her Troop) and fixing things – she is a miss fix it! Skylar is happy when she is horseback riding  and being with her family and two cats, Bernice and Tiger Lilly Belle. When she grows up she would like to be a singer or a famous horse back rider. Fear not music fans, she says that she will always play music.  With the violin being a mobile instrument she will be able to make music in Hawaii or the North Pole – two places she would like to visit.

Mia…
Mia (7) is new to the violin.  Her hobbies are swimming, drawing, and singing.  She loves languages, both real and invented.  Her brothers love how she plays her violin.  She would someday like to visit India, Texas, Canada, Sri Lanka, Saudi Arabia, Libya, and Egypt to see the pyramids.  She has learned that Egyptians no longer mummify people.

Joshua…
My name is Joshua and I am seven years old.  My favorite subject in school is Art.  I love to draw and color pictures.  In my spare time I love to play baseball with my dad.  I have a great time taking music lessons at school. My favorite song to play on the violin is “The May Song”…..

Claire…
Claire has been playing violin for about a year and a half.  She just turned seven, is a first grader, and has already lost six teeth.  In her spare time Claire enjoys doing gymnastics, reading and sleeping late. Her favorite colors are hot pink and black.  When she grows up Claire is thinking of mastering karate.
